Ashton House No.2, Cape Schank
A success should not simply stop at one.
Following the highly regarded Ashton House
number one, Craig has been recommissioned to design and build the Ashton
House Number two; promising a larger and more inspiring experience. Positioned on a sloping site with water views the architecture
is of the earth and sky.
The lower level bedrooms are underground while the
living areas are created within a large truss that cantilevers the building
24m from the side of the hill.
The living areas pick up on the views to the
south while through careful use of a fine grill to the north filters the
northern sun while it hangs effortlessly overlooking a dam.
